Cloud Syncs not working when snapshots turned on

Details: we have a ixsystems mini xl; the older one with gigabit lan. We have one z2 vdev with 8 drives. Each of these subfolders we're trying to backup with cloudsync is itself a vdev. Each vdev also has some form of recurring snapshot policy, usuaully hourly or daily.

When I create the cloudsync to backblaze w/o snapshots turned on, it works fine. W/ snapshots, and it fails with the below error. What gives?

FYI - we did full upgrades on the OS two weeks ago, so we should be relatively current on truenas.
