I came across ClonOS and CBSD recently. I think they are neat open source projects. I like the idea of using one tool for all jails and bhyve VMs with CBSD and the clean and intuitive aproach of the ClonOS web interface. Take a look of the following screenshots (the use of icons for the actions, ecc.) . Also all the management of jails/VMs is done asyncronously so you can create a bunch of them without waiting for each to finish (a feature that i hope will be present in FN 11.1 as on Corral) and many other features. What do you guys and girls think of?

Wow, never heard of ClonOS. I'm going to have to play with that.

As far as I know, FreeNAS 11.1 will expand on the Bhyve capabilities. Jails in 11.1 will be managed via iocage instead of warden (Yey!). Both Jails and Bhyve will be/are managed by the FreeNAS middlewared.

I was considering ClonOS or CBSD as an option before ultimately going with FreeNAS on my server. The projects look very promising as an alternative to Proxmox on Linux.

In fact in FN you have also the NAS part not just the virtualisation. I like the CBSD solution for the jail/bhyve/Xen management as a 'one tool for them all'… [emoji4] and ClonOS is trying to make full advantage of it in a clean web GUI…

As I read its not very mature, but it is an interesting project. [emoji106]

It looks like it's finally coming along, it's been in development for a loooong time. I'll have to download the latest version and check out the progress.
