Cifs share is slow, but FTP is fast

I have been using FreeNAS 8.3 for awhile now, and I have thought that my 3MB/s from my Cifs share was fast, but then I setup a FTP server, and it got 50-55MB/s. I was astonished, so I went on google looking for answers. I have yet to find something that helps me. So now I am posting it here.


System Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor
RAM: 6128MB (6GB) of DDR2 800Mhz Memory
Hard Drive: Seagate 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive.
Motherboard: ECS IC780-A (V1.0) http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pr...goryID=1&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=20&LanID=9
NIC:RealTek 8111C Gigabit Fast Ethernet NIC

Temporarily disable your antivirus and try CIFS again.

Have you tweaked anything on the CIFS settings page?

Turning off my AV does nothing, and I have not tweaked anything in the CIFS settings page, it's all default.
