Hello, new member here so forgive the noob question. I am building a NAS for a friend and I am obviously installing the latest version of FreeNAS. My question is this: I plan on setting this up at my house on my network(router) and I know when I first boot up the OS it will default to mine. However, I will be bringing it to his place and connecting it to his router but it will have my IP(correct), so how do I go about switching it to his default IP assigned by his router?

Thanks,

If you leave it set to dhcp it will grab an IP address on whatever LAN you connect to. Doesn't matter.

If it's set to static IP, you just set a new static IP when you plug it in at your friends house via the console.

Or keep the same one, if available and appropriate.

OP, this is a rather basic and fundamental networking concept, which you don't seem to fully understand. I urge you to read up on DHCP and IP addressing in general.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking/hoping.
