Cant figure out permissions

I am running freenas FreeNAS-11.3-U5
when I ssh into freenas or access the cifs share I am unable to see files and folders with in that directory that I once was able to see. I believe the data is still there as my storage shows Storage pools show 1 tb of used for that location and .windows says its not taking any space.

I have tired
find . -exec setfacl -b {} \; thant another posted suggested on removing ACL

I have tired editing acl through the storage pool and removing acl there as well.

I am not sure on what to search for to help me figure out this issue. any help is greatly appreciated because i cant figure out what I messed up.

I'm not really sure where this is coming from maybe a hold over from earlier versions of code. I cant see in the FreeNAS-11.3-U5 gui where this is configured.

I am not sure you would NOT be able to see files in a dir while sshed as root.

So basically you are looking for the data that is inside the TVshows dir?
