I have configured and enabled SSH but when I attempt to connect to the server using Putty I get a connection refused error, no login prompt. SSH worked previously, then I updated from v8. Am I missing something simple?

Are you trying to connect using a certificate instead of a traditional login? Sounds like you are.

I haven't intentionally specified that anywhere in the FreeNAS config, do I need to set the serve to ask for username/password somewhere?

If it's set, it's probably PuTTY trying to do so, so check those settings.

As strange as is it, SSH is working now. I just got back to looking into this again and when I try putty now I get the login prompt, I didn't make any changes in putty at all, I may have rebooted my FreeNAS server though, I can't remember.

Thanks for the help.

Now how do I mark this thread Answered?
