I have a strong suspicion that i have defective CPU that is causing random freezes in FreeNAS. This was discovered using MemTest86, where tests consistently freezes running on core #0 and works fine on core #1. Can I force FreeNAS to only use core #1 and see if it solves the freezes?

It's rare for a CPU to fail in such a way. If a core fails, your system simply would not boot. Have you considered that you might have something else going wrong? What you're describing sounds like a faulty PSU or RAM.

Hardware specs and FreeNAS version are required when posting in these forums and especially your question is difficult to answer without that info.

Also running memtest and getting an error means you have a memory problem. not a cpu problem, lol
