Hello I just installed Freenas on a mini computer.
In the computer I have a 120GB SSD which I installed Freenas on, I also have a 4TB hard drive. I have been able to create a Pool on the 4TB drive and set it up as a share and everything works fine. But I can't make a Pool out of the SSD which I have installed Freenas on, why is that?
Can't you use the Boot drive for anything els but the operative system? If so is it possible to put a USB stick in the computer aswell and install Freenas on that one instead?
One more uestion, if I install a plugin for example plex, is it installed on the boot drive?

No, you can't. And the installer and the manual both tell you that.

No, it goes on your data pool (or one of your data pools, if you have more than one).

Or is it smarter if possible to make a partition with 10GB on the SSD and install Freenas on that?
And have the other 110GB to make a Pool with.
