Before I submit a bug report, I thought I would post here to see if it's just me...

So I'm now running 9.10.1 after experiencing the GRUB issue reported in this forum. But now I notice that the screen in Supermicro IPMI is totally black - no text at all. I would post a screenshot, but it wouldn't be very interesting!

There used to be the text menu there allowing reboot, etc. Now there's nothing. If I remembered the commands I'd try one out to see if it's just a visual bug or if the whole menu is missing. But I don't.

So I guess I'm asking for help - anyone else experiencing this issue?

Supermicro X10SL7, Xeon, ECC, USB3 boot, 9.10.1

What IPMI firmware revision are you running?

IPMI is working just fine on my SM board after the 9.10.1 update.

I'm running firmware 3.27 and BIOS 3.0a on an X10SL7.

I rolled back to 9.10 Stable and the IPMI screen and FreeNAS menu is back. Definitely a 9.10.1 issue, at least for me.

I have twice your ram, but our E3-1231v3, X10SL7-F, BIOS version and IPMI Firmware version are the same.

I don't have any noticeable problems with a blank screen IPMI.

Are you referring to the remote console preview, the Java based iKVM viewer, or SOL? HTTPS based or IPMIView2.0?

I'm referring to the Java viewer. But the "preview" in IPMI web is also blank. You lost me with that other jargon - I'm a Supermicro newbie and don't know what SOL or IPMIView2.0 is.

So I'm a glutton for punishment. I decided to try the update again. From the command line this time. Everything looked like it worked. The system came up once and immediately rebooted with some kind of "updating GRUB" message before the reboot. Then I get the BIOS and the GRUB menu and ... Blank again! Looks like some setting added to GRUB does not like my system. This time I was viewing with the iOS IPMIView app. Web "preview" is also blank.

I don't have this issue on my systems but earlier this week there was a topic started on this forum about this. It has a bug # attached and the solution was indeed a grub setting. Should be fixed in the next build.
