Best way to add new drives?

Hi all,

I currently have a FreeNAS box with two 2TB WD Red Nas drives.

I have a single mirrored pool configured named DataVol1 that I would like to extend by adding two additional 2TB WD Red Nas drives.

How would I go about doing this without having to move my data off to a temporary location?

I would like to achieve something comparable to raid 10 which I think would just be adding another mirrored vdev to the pool but I'm not totally sure.

All you would have to do is physically connect the drives, and then add another mirrored vdev to the existing pool.

Hi,

I have installed FreeNAS 11.2-U5 and created a Pool with 1x 3TB drive (File Share). My disk space is "running low and I would like to add an additional 1x 3TB without loosing my data. Will I use the "Extend" option to add the new disk and increase the storage?

Thank you in advance for your help.
