Best Practice Apple Shares

Hey all. So I have done some searching and keep coming across creating time machine shares, however I want to be able to setup a share for my Apple and possible Android devices. We have 2 macbook pros, couple iPads, iPhone 11 pro, and Android phone. at the very least I want to be able to be able to use my NAS as a storage location for all my photos and music. Phones and idevices are optional. What is the best share to use for the Macs at the very least and how should I configure permissions? I also have a separate pool for my Time Machine backups so I could possible use those users?

A walkthrough would be preferred but if there is a thread that I happened to missed that covers this I would be happy to be pointed in that direction.
