Looking to replicate just a single ISCSi LUN to another NAS for replication, just a one time replication that I can start up.

What would be the best choice to do this?

Is the other NAS FreeNAS? If so, use the built-in replication. If not, rsync is a good choice.

Sorry, I should clarify.

I have a FreeNAS device and a Mini I'd like to use as the replication target. So from the FreeNAS to the mini.

Perfect! Yes. Snapshots and replication do exactly what you want. Works great. Create and replicate one snapshot. That'll do what you need.

Any chance you have a nice guide on this just to make sure I don't mess this up?

Edit: Also this will be fully recoverable from the second NAS? Basically I want to be able to send this NAS to someone as it's used for backups.

In the FreeNAS User Guide, please see the sections on snapshots and replication. Those link to Version 11. If you're running an earlier version, you can probably still figure it out from there or you can hunt down an earlier version of the guide.

Cheers,
Matt
