Backup software

Hi,
I just installed freenas on a laptop for test environment before getting the hardware. Mainly I will be using it to sync 2 or my work computers, my home computer and some other computers.

Is it possible to install a software both my work computers (and on the others too apart from my home laptop) that encrypts the data being sent to my home freenas without configuring a vpn connection?
