My current offsite backup process consist of copying particular volumes with
zfs send -R to file and than moving a file to LTFS formatted tape on the other system over SMB. The question is how reliable this scheme? So far it's not looking that bad, I tried to recover to other FN system i have and it restored good, no errors or bugs whatsoever. But the thin part I see is that it all depends on a single snapshot file, what would be if snapshot gets corrupted? Will a single corrupted bit\byte make all data unrecoverable?
