Attack or config ?

Hi guys,

Just want to check, am copying data over internet to remote FREENAS server via ssh and my log is giving following :

Aug 5 02:40:05 freenas sshd[69325]: Failed password for root from "my remote ip" port 37599 ssh2

The copy is successful.

Am I being attacked or is this a config issue ?

Any feedback appreciated.

You have publicly exposed SSH on your FreeNAS. Of course there will be attempts to log in. That's the way the internet works. Set up key-based authentication.
