I have one of these motherboards

I also have 6 core and a 4 core phenom ii processor but i think they're kind of overkill and will run hot as they're both clocked up pretty high. Maybe I could underclock the 6 core and shut off cores it's unlocked...

I have everything but memory and hard drives. I want to have 5x2 tb in ZF2, 3 storage, 2 parity drives and 8 gigs of memory. This amount of space will hold me until I'm ready to build another server.

can anyone recommend a reliable 2tb drive and 4gb sticks ECC ram?

Since you only have 2 slots for memory, go with 16Gb now.

More than likely, you'll need more than 8Gb for your desired pool size.
