Are TrueNAS & FreeNAS featuresets different?

Saw this posting talking about S3 support.

Installed 9.10.2 of FreeNAS and am not sure I see where these features are available in the UI.

S3 is a TrueNAS-only feature.

Will S3 ever appear in FreeNAS? I hoped that Jordan's "its dead" comment against the s3-command indicated that it would.

Not sure yet for the 9.x series as that is still being discussed internally.
