Hello Experts,

There must be a bug with DHCP in 12 TrueNas, but I used CLI and /etc/netcli

I had one using nic1 using DHCP and now I configured and add NIC2 with just IP and subnet - lost totally network. But question is how can I add second NIC with static IP if the other NIC is using DHCP - any thoughts?

You can easily, but those cards cannot be in the same network/ip address range. That's just how IP works. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Thank you for your reply.

I do have total 4 NICs.
1 NIC is used for management 192.168.168.100/24 with default gateway

2 NIC I would like to use for NAS 192.168.190.0/24 with no gateway.

Seems like if I use GUI all is ok until I restart TrueNas the IP of 2nd card disappear.

When I try to add using CLI I loose completely access to whatever IP so I have to reset manually both networks from console (CLI directly)

GUI does not keep IP of 2nd after restarting TrueNas - this is the issue for now.

You need to

1. Apply
2. Test
3. Save

your settings in the UI. So it's three comfirmation buttons. Possibly you missed the last step?
