Need comments for the SAS controller
What comments were you hoping for? The LSI/Broadcom/Avago controllers are the standard recommendations.

I have one Toshiba drive in my pool. No complaints, but not representative.... @Chris Moore will most certainly offer a different opinion.

That said... I've had my best luck with HGST. The problem there is most of my HGST drives have been pre-WD acquisition, and I can't vouch for the current lineup. Add to this, I have to add the disclaimer that I'm a former HGST employee, so... Subtly biased. :)

I got a similar rig from ixSystems but with the Tq motherboard. As it’s my first SuperMicro board, most of my concerns seem to be uniform for their products such as the incredibly buggy IPMI implementation and useless manuals. As ix did the build, I don’t know if they had to flash the SAS controller or not, but the lack of actionable information from S.M.A.R.T. for SAS disks and near total lack of useful write-ups on that subject has me hesitate to suggest that part.
