A little trouble assigning a user to a folder?

Hi,

I have a user (Richtj99) and group (richtj99). I made a directory:

Raid1
/mnt/Raid1



I seem to be able to use it if it is set to guest. I want to make sure I am password protected using the richtj99 user credentials. Is there a guide to setting that up? I know its a pretty basic question.

I am using 8.3 freenas.
