1) Alert button:
I found out that on my new FreeNAS system the alert button does not work as intended.
I searched if this where a known error but only found a bug report where there where a error message showing when pressing the alert button, this is not the case for me.
I got 2 hard disks with bad sectors, i know this and i only use these for testing:
Code:
Jun 21 07:09:06 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Device: /dev/ada2, 34 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
Jun 21 07:09:06 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Device: /dev/ada2, 1 Offline uncorrectable sectors

However the alert button shows:
Code:
The system has no alerts

I ran long and short SMART tests and a scrup and still no warning message.
The button works because i seen a error after a incorrect shutdown of the system.
On my 1st FreeNAS the button would turn red and warn me for the bad sectors.

In the console i see:
Code:
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to *email* produced unexpected output (174 bytes) to STDOUT/STDERR:
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: usage: smart_alert.py [-h] [-d DEV]
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: smart_alert.py: error: unrecognized arguments: -s SMART error (OfflineUncorrectableSector) detected on host: freenas-2 *email*
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to *email*: failed (32-bit/8-bit exit status: 512/2)
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Device: /dev/ada2, previous self-test completed with error (read test element)
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Device: /dev/ada2, Self-Test Log error count increased from 0 to 1
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to *email* produced unexpected output (156 bytes) to STDOUT/STDERR:
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: usage: smart_alert.py [-h] [-d DEV]
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: smart_alert.py: error: unrecognized arguments: -s SMART error (SelfTest) detected on host: freenas-2 *email*
Jun 21 09:08:56 freenas-2 smartd[2444]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to *email*: failed (32-bit/8-bit exit status: 512/2)

when i googled i found this bug report:
https://bugs.pcbsd.org/issues/15898

Is this related to the alert button?

2) Double web interface:
I use Google Chrome as browser but when i want to open a 2nd FreeNAS web interface in another tab i always get this message:
Code:
Forbidden (403)
CSRF verification failed. Request aborted.
More information is available with DEBUG=True.

A simple workaround is to open one FreeNAS in "incognitomodus" but can i fix this another way?

Thank you kindly for any reply's.

Did you run the smart test from the tasks section in the GUI? Pretty sure that is the only way the alert button will turn red. But I had a failing drive that stopped making the alert button turn red as of a week or so ago. That drive is now gone so I won't know for sure.

Hello, similar problem here

Code:
Jun 30 05:42:08 nas smartd[2657]: Device: /dev/da2 [SAT], Temperature 50 Celsius reached critical limit of 50 Celsius (Min/Max 48/50!)
Jun 30 05:42:08 nas smartd[2657]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to myemailforalerts@gmail.com produced unexpected output (109 bytes) to STDOUT/STDERR:
Jun 30 05:42:08 nas smartd[2657]: usage: smart_alert.py [-h] [-d DEV] [-s S]
Jun 30 05:42:08 nas smartd[2657]: smart_alert.py: error: unrecognized arguments: zfamily7@gmail.com
Jun 30 05:42:08 nas smartd[2657]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to myemailforalerts@gmail.com: failed (32-bit/8-bit exit status: 512/2)

Albeit System -> Email -> Send Test Email works fine.

My system is:
FreeNAS-latest at the time of writing
hp ProLiant MicroServer Gen8/8Gb ECC/4x 2Tb in RAIDZ2 on built-in SATA controller/Dualboot from internal USB+MicroSD

Build FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201606270534 (dd17351)
Platform Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G1610T @ 2.30GHz
Memory 8128MB

I have the same bug on current stable version (FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201606270534 (dd17351)).
I've found a lot of HDD overheat warnings in a system console, but not in e-mail box!!!! (while 2 monthes ago it worked fine.)
Jul 30 18:04:39 freenas smartd[81442]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to myname@gmail.com produced unexpected output (116 bytes) to STDOUT/STDERR:
Jul 30 18:04:39 freenas smartd[81442]: usage: smart_alert.py [-h] [-d DEV] [-s S]
Jul 30 18:04:39 freenas smartd[81442]: smart_alert.py: error: unrecognized arguments: myname@gmail.com
Jul 30 18:04:39 freenas smartd[81442]: Warning via /usr/local/www/freenasUI/tools/smart_alert.py to myname@gmail.com: failed (32-bit/8-bit exit status: 512/2)

"Send test mail" works fine, as well as i still receive mails about reboots and scrubs.
