Freenas told me to update to P14 IT firmware, which i only updated to P13. so the question is , does it matter between 13 and 14? pros and cons?

Is this the relevant hardware?
Supermico A1SRM-2558F 4x8GB Samung M391B1G73QH0-YK0
6 x 3TB WD RED in RaidZ2. 800G Intel dc s3700
IBM M1015 flashed to IT mode firmware 20
Chenbro RM23612 Total of 12 Bays

Else: specify hardware details and what version of FreeNAS you are running.

It's not a bug, it's a legitimate warning.

On Broadcom 12gig SAS HBAs "firmware version=driver -1"
Josh Paetzel contacted Broadcom about this some time ago and code was put in place to account for it.

FreeNAS 9.10.2-U3 updated the MPR driver to Phase 14 aka 15.01.00.00-fbsd.
To match, the firmware has to be bumped to 14.00.00.00.

For 9300-8i users, they would need to use this following package:

9300_8i_Package_P14_IR_IT_FW_BIOS_for_MSDOS_Windows.zip

The bug is that the specific combination should be fine.

I have a separate ticket for the whole firmware mismatch system to be reviewed, but that's scheduled for 11.1.
