Hi

So I managed to install my first FreeNAS server using the below listed hardware and the latest stable release, aka version 9.10. I'm just a little confused as I don't see the option for ZFS filesystem anywhere. During the initial installation wizard that popped up the first time I entered the FreeNAS GUI I picked RaidZ2 as I have plenty of drives for 2 drive redundancy, but no options for filesystems.

When looking at guides (that are made from version 9.3) I see ZFS options under Volumes, but I don't have them. Was this changed in version 9.10?

Sorry if it's a noobie question, but atleast I made it this far! :p

Hardware used
- CPU: Xeon E3 1270 V5
- RAM: 2x Crucial 16GB DDR4 ECC CT2K16G4WFD8213
- Motherboard: Supermicro X11SSH-F
- USB for the OS: Corsair Voyager 32GB 3.0
- HDDs: 7x 4TB WD Red in RaidZ2
- PSU: Corsair RM650
- Case: Fractal Define R5

Sounds like you're reading an older version of the Guides. This is the one you want (it's also built into the GUI): http://doc.freenas.org/9.10/. The Volume Manager no longer says ZFS as that is the only filesystem available (older versions also supported UFS).

Ya I thought so too, only thing making sense to me. Thank you for the more recent guide!
