For testing I have created a virtualbox image and installed FreeNAS 8.3 beta 2.

I have added an additional 6 2.3gb disks and created a raidz2.

the zfs volume only shows as 847mb.

the zpool shows as 1.29G.

Any idea what's going on?

Hi carl0s,

Keep in mind that FreeNAS sets aside a 2GB partition for swap on each data disk. You can disable\change this in Settings -> Advanced -> "Swap size on each drive in GiB".

Excellent. That explains it perfectly. Thanks!
