I'm looking to impliment 2FA in our windows domain using AuthLite and found that additional steps may be required for member servers that are non-windows based. For instance: "Configure a Linux domain member to accept AuthLite OTPs" https://www.authlite.com/kb/configure-a-linux-domain-member-to-accept-authlite-otps/
The instructions include installing libpam-python and adding AuthLite's auth.py file.
Is this doable with FreeNAS? I know it's somewhat a contained environment and that hacking stuff into it is frowned upon.
If a user is already authenticated by the domain controller, is this even necessary? I'd think it's all tokens for access after that and that the 2FA wouldn't even play a part when accessing the samba shares on the FreeNAS system.
