18 drive setup

I'm looking at a possible 18 drive build for Plex storage. I'm curious if anyone has some solid recommendation between 2 raidz3 vdevs of 9 drives each and 3 raidz2 vdevs of 6 drives each.

Both options give a total of 6 drives of redundancy. I'm leaning toward 3 raidz2 vdevs for increased performance as I am going to try getting infiniband in place.

Any thoughts out there?

Both sound like overkill. 2x 8 drives RAIDZ2 would be fine.

2x 8 drives RAIDZ2 and if you wish a SSD Mirror for your PLEX VM

I assume your on gigabit Ethernet, if so it will be no faster my 8 drive RAIDz2 maxes out my Ethernet connection

EDIT: I've never heard of infiniband. after looking at it I'm not even sure it will work on freeNAS
