I'm planning to build an all SSD pool for various storage (vm's, database, static files etc...), and I often run in to the TRIM-thing and garbage collection painted as a big issue with SSD's. I'm not sure if this information is obsolete or not. The FreeNAS documentation does not help me that...

RAM: 2x 8GB Vulcan DDR3 1600 MHz (I know, no ECC. Eventually with full upgrade...)

PSU: Rosewill 450 Watt Gold
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO, model MZ-7TE120
Some HGST Deskstar 2TB NAS Drive, if it matters

my usb key was faulty so i found an old vertex ssd (like the first gen, 30 gig) that i had and it is working perfectly but it doesnt support trim
i keep getting ata error status related to trim in the console, after a little of googling i found out that it was because of the trim on that ssd...
