How to Disable Uneeded Services?

Is there a recommended method to disable unnecessary daemons? My FreeNAS box is needlessly listening on several ports:

137 UDP
139 TCP
260 UDP,TCP
557 UDP,TCP

You can run the command sockstat to see what service is using the port in question, and then disable relevant service. For instance, nmbd is the NetBIOS name server and it can be disabled under Network->Global Configuration.

nmbd can't be disabled in 11.3.

Can you isolate those ports via the switch or the router?
