Scheduling shutdowns

Hi,
I have built a simple NAS system with Freenas 11.2 U5. My question is how do I set up an automatic shutdown daily between 00:00 to 16:00.

My knowledge of Linux code is limited, however I have been using following command,
shutdown -p now and selected hours to be shutdown. This does not appear to be working. Can anyone offer any advise.

To add a little clarity to that, you could probably get the shutdown command sorted out by using the builtin script if you can work it out (see here https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/what-command-does-the-ui-use-to-shutdown-freenas.77473/ ), but then it's on you to get it to start again after that, so good luck (no FreeNAS running to initiate that script at the right time). On top of all that, your maintenance jobs will all miss, so you'll have issues at some point with no SMART data.

It might help to explain *why* you would want your NAS off for most of the time...???

@Sam Beattie , you may not have realized that FreeNAS performs a number of essential maintenance tasks in the hours you have selected for it to be shut off, including a daily configuration backup.

FreeNAS is an appliance not designed to be shut off nor for its storage to be "spun down", but some people do so use it. An answer to @seanm question may allow answers in context.
