The best you can do is \\FreeNAS\Media, \\FreeNAS\TopSecretPlansForWorldDomination, \\FreeNAS\ExtremelyBoringNameThatDefinitelyIsNotHidingAnythingWhyWouldAFilenameLieToYou, etc.

Each of those would be a share, that means you make a "Media" share, a "TopSecretPlansForWorldDomination" share, a "ExtremelyBoringNameThatDefinitelyIsNotHidingAnythingWhyWouldAFilenameLieToYou" share, etc.
You probably want them all to be different datasets, because they'd presumably have different snapshot tasks and similar properties.

1) Create separate shares for each dataset
or
2) Map the subdirectories using "Map Network Drive".

This is a very delayed response. Thanks for the replies through! I'm not sure what I did differently the 4th time trying to set this up, but it started working how I wanted.
Mapping the network drives is definitely what I should had been doing to make accessing the folder quicker.

I think the key was making my own user vs keeping root as the main user.
