First, you should post your system details per the forum rules.

Let's see if we understand what you're trying to do. You are running a Wiki website, which runs on a web server, correct? And you want to access a file (or files) on your FreeNAS server from this web server?

Thanks for your Reply Guys,

i have a Webserver were my Wiki is running.
My Fileserver is on FreeNAS. I want to make Links on FreeNAS from Webserver like http://FreeNAS/Share-Folder/File.pdf
If i click on the Link, then the Webpage is open from FreeNAS, not the File what i want.
This File is reachable via smb, i have test it, it works but not via Web-Link.
Webserver and Fileserver are in the same Local Network.

Hope you guys can support me...

I just gave this a whirl and it appears to work fine (however it does prompt for a User Name and PW)...

By default these are:
User: webdav
PW: davtest

Keep in mind you need to specify the port in the URL (8080 is the default that is set).

Example: http://ASC-FN01:8080/TestWebDav

Hi,

i got this message:
"The requested URL /.../.../...pdf was not found on this server"

But if i put smb instead of http, it works

  • Did you configure a WebDav Share in FreeNAS?
  • Is the WebDav Service running on your FreeNAS box?
  • Are you using the default configurations for WebDav or did you change things (like https, etc)
  • Try going to the WebDav Share via URL first; excluding the PDF file to see if you can at least get to the Shared Directory first
Finally, just to be sure, you did review and follow the instructions for WebDav provided in the Manual I linked previously correct?

Just as a note, I noticed you mentioned FreeNAS version 9.3. I am running version 9.10 and referenced the manual for that version. However, I did just double check the 9.3 Manual and it appears to all be the same...

i don know what's going wrong.

Your URL is incorrect... the format is:
http://%Server%:8080/%WebDav_Share%

In my example (http://ASC-FN01:8080/TestWebDav):
  • "ASC-FNo1" is my FreeNAS Server Name
    • Which is resolvable by my DNS
    • That is why I recommended you try IP Address instead (I don't know if your DNS is resolving for you)
    • Is "axxfile" the name of your FreeNAS Server?
  • "TestWebDav" is the WebDav Share Name I used
    • Yours is "wiki" so you should use that..
Assuming that "axxfile" is the name of your FreeNAS Server (and it is resolvable by your DNS); then the URL you would want to try would be:

http://axxfile:8080/wiki

Try that manually in a web browser first; just to be sure you can get to at least that part...

Somehow I knew that question was coming... ;)

I am not sure if that is currently possible. I did see this old thread where it was asked, but still not sure. There might be a way with modifying Apache configuration, but I have not delved into that.

Hopefully another contributor chimes in with an answer for "anonymous" or "guest" WebDav access...
