Pardon me, but if you want to hear from a bunch of yes-men, I suggest you go look for such "advice" elsewhere.
You said:
Considering it on next purchase
Will it work?
Which means you don't have the card yet, which means anyone with half a brain and knowledge on the matter is going to suggest you pick something else.
Intelligence has decreased on this planet, for sure.
Would anybody be both intelligent and kind to tell me if this network card chipset is supportedwith the aforementioned freeNAS Build?
If you want to act like a prick, don't expect any helpful advice from anyone.
Because someone might stumble on this thread in the future, I will provide some more helpful comments:
It's unlikely anybody would be using one of those things with FreeNAS, because:
a) It's targeted at a completely different market
b) Intel is
the standard - you don't see enterprise servers with anything like that card
c) Driver support is almost certain to be lacking, at least in FreeBSD
d) It almost certainly provides no tangible benefits even within its target market
Please look for the card's chipset in the FreeBSD 9.2 Hardware Compatibility List. If it's not listed, it won't work. If it is, Intel is still a better option.
