I have a 5x4TB raidz1 that had about 4.5TB free that was running 9.1 until this morning.

I just upgraded to 9.1.1, and the same zpool now shows about 1TB free.

If it helps, this pool was created as 5x3TB, and upgraded. I swapped out one drive at a time, then did an export and import -R to expand it. I've since enabled autoexpand.

Any guesses as to what might be going on here?

Thanks to cyberjock on #freenas for helping me sort this out.

When I added the larger drives, autoexpand was off. I manually expanded the zpool by doing online -e, export, import -R to get the new space. Then I turned on autoexpand. Apparently, if you want this to stick, you need to do the online/export/import dance with autoexpand on.

All's well after doing that dance one more time.

That isn't enough, it was back to the smaller size after a reboot this morning. I'm a bit concerned about what happens if I have less free space than the expansion and it boots up truncated. Seems like data loss would be inevitable.
