ZFS replication and restoration, how does it work?

I have two machines, Archive and Backup.

Archive creates snapshots and replicated them to Backup.

On Backup, through the shell, I can browse through the backed up data that came from Archive.

I want to reconfigure Archive and change the disks out. I figure rather than putting in drives one at a time, resilvering and expanding, I can just destroy the pool and recreate it with bigger drives.

I created snapshots of Backup and tried to use replication back to Archive to restore it but I see nothing when I try to browse through shell. The datasets in the GUI are reporting the right size.

What should I have done?

In some scenarios replication has trouble mounting the datasets based on the order things were done in. In my experience it has been when replicating nested datasets.
