Hello,
I a m quite new to this building a processor stuf. I have experience with building computers but this is the first time that I build a home server.
Now everything looks very clear to me expect for the processor. What processor is best used? What do I have to look for? Does FreeNAS support quad core and is quad core much better?
I looked for some cheap processors (under the €100) and found;
AMD A6-6400K (dual core 3.9GHZ)
Intel pentium G3250 (dual core 3.2GHz)
And the best looking in my eye if NasFree supports quad is AMD A8-6500 (quad core 3.5Ghz).
But offcourse I don't know if they are any good. So pleas help me chose a good processor and if possible help me with my questions. If there are other better processors feel free to tell me how wrong I am chosing this processors :) (I want to learn much)
The use of my home servers is downloading with bittorent, backup of every pc in my network, file storage and media streaming (make it 3 a 4 streams maximum so it is prepared for later)
Thanks for the help :)
