Turn Off Unix Extenions

I am having trouble trying to copy some files from OS X to my freeNas server. I get this error message
"The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items"
I think I need to turn off Unix Extensions for the Samba server. But how to do this..?
Note: I have tried unchecking the Unix Extensions box in the CIFS Services panel.. but still receive this error..

Check volume and dataset ownership, make sure that the user or user's group has permission to write to that volume.
