Hi all,
I'm searching for two 8Tb disks for a new mirror.
In addition to WD and Ironwolf, I've seen the Toshiba disks N300 and MG (sata version).
N300 is said to be CMR, which is good.
For MG ones, I found MG07 and MG08 to be CMR, but can't find info for MG05 which is the 8tb size. (MG05ACA800E). Do you know which technology it uses?
How do they compare to WD and Seagate in term of noise, heat...? Do they work fine with freenas?
Have you tried mixing drive models of the same capacity (MG+N300 or WD+Ironwolf...)? As I want to have different batch number I buy from different stores, but that may be easier and cheaper just to mix models and buy from one store.
Thanks
Julian
