I'd like to offer a suggestion to include sysutils/cdrtools in the next release of FreeNAS. Currently tape support works close to "out of box" with most tape drives.
The reasoning for this is there is often times the need to archive data or export out data for different reasons. Some of these include reasons for long term storage, legal requirements, and internal retention policies. Since the use of these tools would be more for "expert" or "advanced" users I don't see the immediate need for a GUI, but having the tools available would be beneficial.
I hope this suggestion is given some consideration.
