I shut my environment down tonight so I could do some maintenance (memory swaps for MCA: errors). Did it by the book, everything seemed fine.
When I brought my freenas server back up, I could not connect to the GUI, and my VMware servers could only see an NFS share. No targets. I can only see the console because my server has an iLO port (IPMI) configured. Otherwise, I'd have nothing. I can ping my gateway from the host, but that's it.
After much reading, I figured out how to get to the error messages:
Starting istgt
istgt version 0.5 (20121028)
normal mode
using kqueue
using host atomic
istgt_lu.c:1915:istgt_lu_add_unit: ***ERROR*** LU2: no LUN0
(more stuff about no lun0)
WARNING: failed to start istgt
I haven't made any changes to the system in weeks, and the system had been running for 77 some days.
All my VMs are on the iSCSI volumes. Everything looks like it should work:
all disks are found and listed
all partitions are listed
all zfs volumes are listed
my istgt.config has: LUN0 Storage /dev/zvol/zPool_01/VM_iSCSI_01 auto (and another logical unit for LUN1)
I just can't figure out why the target provider wont start?
I really need some help to get this running.
Thanks !
