In freenas 9.10, the freenas API is probably the only good way of achieving that goal.

Freenas 10 will introduce a CLI more amenable to scripting.

Do you mean share a dataset over SSH? (I have no idea)
Or do you mean use SSH to create a dataset and set the sharing? (see API ref above)
