It's possible the boot device failed. Does a fresh install of that version resolve the issue? If so, you can restore your config.

Nah da4 is a pool drive, da0 is the boot SSD, da5 is CDrom

Sure about this? Your post #1 says otherwise. "da4: <iDRAC ... > Removable ...:"
Do you have any virtual media attached via the remote console?
Yes I am sure look at my second post, the update started this error, there is no media in the CDRom or iDarc virtual drive. DA4 is a 1TB pool drive as once I rolled back the update it shows up as shown in post 2 image.

Ok this is odd, I've just re-enable the U7 boot, and its booted ok, but look

Hmm, this really strange, but I still suspect, the boot behaves different as soon as you boot with iDRAC console connected.
Is there anything not working now? Or are you just wondering about the mysterious drives showing up?
So is da4 missing now? What is the output of zpool status?
What is the boot output if you boot without the iDRAC connected?
You can get that output with the dmesg command. When you post it, please don't use images, post text with

tags.

Hmm, apart from the iDRAC it looks pretty normal now. Do you still have problems?

Hey, I know this is old but I got the same error.
Somehow the SATA mode in my BIOS got set to RAID instead of AHCI. I switched it back and everything resumed working perfectly.

Hope this helps somebody!
