SATA DOM Temperature Alerts

Hi folks,

I'm seeing a lot of temperature alerts for my SATA DOMs when they get between 40 and 45c. I am using 2xSupermicro SSD-DM064-SMCMVN1 64GB SATA DOMs for my boot pool (I've already got 'em so no use in switching to SSDs until they die). I've found a few posts on the forums suggesting that these warnings can be ignored and that SATA DOMs tolerate higher temperatures. I'm having a hard time finding more information about what a safe operating range for these is. I found a spec sheet for an Innodisk DOM that suggests 70c as a max operating temperature.

I found this thread suggesting that I can just change the alert temperature. Are these alerts an issue? And if not, at what temperature should I start worrying about those SATA DOMs? Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I looked:
https://www.supermicro.com/datasheet/datasheet_SuperDOM.pdf
and
https://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/SATADOM.cfm
plus some other Google searching and I can't find anything that specifies a temperature range, but I admit I didn't spend a great deal of time on it. I expect these drives would be good to 60 C at a minimum. The mechanical boot drives I am using in my server now are rated for that temperature. I set my warning temperature on FreeNAS to not alert me unless a drive temperature goes over 45 and 45 is the typical temp of the boot drives. All the other drives are running between 29 and 41 depending on the type of drive and where it is in the chassis.

All that said, I wouldn't worry about them because they are also intended for industrial use where the equipment is sometimes even outdoors and hot. It is mainly the spinning disks we need to keep cool and that is mostly about making them last longer.
