Hello,
I have a small RAID1 pool from two SSD drives, used (among others) for iocage and system dataset. I'd like to "expand" this pool to six drive RAIDZ2. As ZFS does not support migrating between RAID types I understand I have to destroy original pool, add&replace drives and make a new one. What is best method for achieving this? For other reasons I'd like to keep pool name (and dataset structure of course) including relevant config settings, like shares etc...
Can I do it within this NAS (moving system dataset and iocage away), or is it viable/safer to take a snapshot to file, create this pool elsewhere, restore the snapshot there and simply rely on that the NAS box will autoimport such "implanted" pool without issues?
