There's very little info here to say definitively. Assuming your friend's NAS was running FreeNAS or TrueNAS, then the drive was formatted GPT with a 2 GB FreeBSD swap partition, and the remainder of the disk would hold a FreeBSD data partition with a ZFS file system. Windows 10 can see partitions on a GPT disk, but can't read either, and will prompt you to format the disk.

To recover data off the disk, you'll need additional software, like Klennet ZFS Recovery, for which you'll need to pay for a license to copy data off.

Please define "destroyed" and provide as many details as possible on the configuration of the NAS (OS, version, number of drives, pool layout).

On Windows you'll need OpenZFS on Windows or other software. Repairing the NAS or builing a new one may be easier than rescuing from Windows. It may also be necessary to mount more than one HDD to read the data.
