I made the mistake of filling a standalone ZFS volume (not part of a pool, just 1:1 drive to volume) during a CIFS copy. Ran out of space, now I seem to be unable to delete, chmod, ANYTHING to get the space back.

FreeNAS throws a "no space left on device" no matter what I try.

If this is a known issue, I'll have to be very careful to never attempt a copy of more than the available space, but for now, since I'm unable to delete via CIFS or even via rm commands via SSH, what can I do to regain this type of access to the drive?

I did start a scrub on the volume, but it doesn't seem to be doing much there. Available space still shows 0 in the GUI.

Help???

Do a google search on the forum - "site:freenas.org no space left", without the quotes.

I'll try the google search. I had tried that search on the forums so far and saw a lot of advice to try "dd" commands and such but nothing has working, maybe because I am not using a zpool and just using each drive as its own ZFS volume. I'll read up some more and hope there is another solution.

Did a google search, saw rebooting helped for most people, didn't help for me. dd also not working. Welcome any other suggestions on how I can get "no space left on device" error on this standalone ZFS volume to go away. Can't delete or do anything to the volume.
