In my opinion, if your building a server, use a Supermicro motherboard. They are rock solid and are probably considered the standard go to server boards by many here and elsewhere. Look for them at Provantage, they tend to be cheaper on the SM motherboards at least. You don't need to spend much more to have a top notch system that will last you many trouble free years down the road.

It's no mystery why the gaming mag used an Asrock board in their build. Asrock built it's rep making low cost / high option gaming boards, not server boards.
