We just completed an upgrade to 8.3.2 and this weekend a disk failed. I have removed the offending disk but when i go Storage -> View Volumes -> Volume Status ->Broken disk -> Replace I get an error dialog that says "Sorry, an error occurred" at this point I am at a loss to see what the actual error is. Under settings the "Show tracebacks in case of fatal errors" is checked yet i am not seeing it anywhere.

What is the layout of the disks (e.g. filesystem and type of RAID/Z)? If ZFS, post the output of "zpool status".

A reboot will "fix" that. FYI, you can specify the GPTID in the zpool replace command. I would suggest you setup SSH as well. The web shell doesn't seem to retain formatting properly.

That is good to know about a reboot and it will happen eventually just not in the immediate future. As far as ssh that was how i collected that data it appears there some some translation error when i submitted it to the forum. I am still concerned that i can not replace a disk via the UI.

Typically, /var/log/messages would have additional information. It may be too late to tell at this point. Do you have hot-swap hardware? It's possible something still had one of the GEOMs for that device open.
