Permission to write to share

I am having trouble when creating another CIFS shared location this is listed fine, but when I come to write to it I get 'permission required'

I've created the folder and shared exactly the same way as the other folders and shares I have created

Does anyone have any advice of why I must then run CHMOD -R 777 on the folder to write to it - didn't have to do this with all the other shares I had created. This happens either when creating shares via shell on pc itself or through shell on the gui interface

I'm running 9.2.1
