I am new to Linux and FreeNAS and I am an stuck on the initial configuration. I was successfully able to get my FreeNAS img to the USB stick and it boots off the USB stick, but it brings me to the Console Step (I assume because it cannot find my network port??). I have attempted to manually configure the port (re0), but I am getting no connectivity or link lite from the port. (I have tried swapping out multiple network cables and switches - no luck). When run "ipconfig" the port in question shows status of "No carrier".

How can I determine if I have the correct network driver loaded for FreeNas? Any suggestions?

If you've isolated the problem to the NIC it might be a good idea to just buy a cheap Intel NIC. They perform better and are better supported. If you have one laying around (hey who doesn't keep piles of random computer parts?) then you could put it in for testing purposes.
That being said, one time I went through 4 'known good' patch cables that were duds.
