Dear Members.

I working one a new system.

We have a Qnap TS809 Pro with 12.5TB of storage space. And about 11.5TB of data.

Within a few weeks we expect much extra data.

Therefore I have a 16TB Freenas system set up.

But I get no way the data transferred from the qnap to the Freenas.

First i have try a Replication task on the Qnap to one FTP (FTP folder on the Freenas) after about 30% it's stopt and it's on hold.

second i try ryscn but i cannot connect.

Can someone send me any tips for this?

Thanks!

have another windows/linux machine in the same LAN as the QNAP and Freenas. Map both on the windows/linux machine as network drives. Copy data from one to another.

I would suggest trying harder with rsync. Remember you can either push or pull data, so you can set up the rsync at either the Qnap or the FreeNAS end. On the FreeNAS end you can easily try at the command line instead of using the GUI, which will give you much better diagnostics as to why things are not moving. Maybe you can do that at the Qnap too.

(Additionally, if you are moving 11.5Tb of data over to the FreeNAS and expecting "much extra data", then you'll likely run out of space on the FreeNAS pretty soon? 16Tb is not a big increase, and you should certainly consider making the FreeNAS higher capacity *before* copying all the data over otherwise you'll have to do it all again sometime soon. Plus, what disk array configuration are you planning?)
